What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist position at BCRR?
In-Charge needed w / Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Foreign Equivalent in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science & 1 yr exp as a Pharmacist.
In-Charge performing following job duties :
Maintain perpetual inventory of all controlled substances & doc the quantity in stock.
Ensure the pharmacy operated under TX State Board of Pharmacy rules & regulations.
Assist prescribers w / getting prior authorization approvals for several specialty medications. Check therapeutically equivalent drugs covered under the insurance plan.
Dispense Oncology specialty medications for various Cancer diseases.
Provide immunizations incl Influenza, Shingles, Pneumococcal & Tdap.
Verify discrepancies on prescriptions by contacting the prescriber.
Counsel patients about significant drug-drug & drug-food interactions.
Dispense & counsel patients on several neurology medications. Implement standing order protocol for Naloxone to prevent risk of opioid overdose.
Perform medication therapy management to help patients maintain adherence by identifying their potential barriers. Notify clinic staff about any necessary lab work reqd on the medication therapy management portal. Gather clinical info about new drugs & trials.
- Use Prime Rx. Supervisor one Pharmacy Technician. Must have TX State Registered Pharmacist License. Hours : Mon-Fri - 11 : 00am-7 : 00pm (1 Hour Lunch Break) Saturday - 9 : 00am-2 : 00pm. Day Off : Sunday;
