SUMMARY :
General Responsibilities :
The Director of Sales will lead the overall growth strategy and successful management of the BCS Sales department. This includes financial planning, setting and achieving strategic goals, and actively developing and implementing sales policies and procedures. The Director of Sales will also recommend and implement appropriate action plans to optimize processes, maximize employee talents and achieve outstanding customer and employee satisfaction. Regularly communicates strategies, plans, performance and conditions to leadership and direct reports.
Reports to : Chief Operating Officer
Direct reports : Sales Managers, Inside Sales Manager, Marketing Manager
Direction : Minimal supervision.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
40% Develop and manage Sales and Marketing department and provides satisfaction to customers.
Develop the leadership within the department through coaching and mentoring by actively listening, asking questions to assist in strategic growth and succession planning.
Promote company culture that encourages top performance and high morale based on BCS’ mission, vision and values.
Develops and ensures that quality standards are maintained, for processes and functions.
Manage and promote relationships with external partners and vendors, as necessary.
Maintain outstanding customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, processes, implementation, advising corrective actions and communicating to better assist customers and manufacturers.
Responsible for staying up to date on external market conditions and internal requirements related to the Sales department.
Assist in the development, retention and promotion for the Sales department.
Enriches and deepens customer relationships through networking and business development opportunities.
40% Develops, implements, and monitors annual department strategy and budget to meet revenue goals.
Develop strategic short and long-range sales objectives including sales and marketing personnel and financial performance.
Works with Marketing and Sales managers to assemble and analyze overall strategy for marketing, business development and sales.
Oversees budgets and projections, risk management and sales metrics for the department.
Responsible for achieving sales objectives regarding market share, profit and growth goals.
Maintains relationships with manufacturers and cultivates new relationships that complement existing product lines.
Coordinate sales activity and processes that are consistent between multiple BCS offices.
Communicates sales business plan, including marketing and business development strategy, funnels and initiatives to leadership team.
Conducts market research, stay up to date on latest market trends and utilizes data for sales and marketing strategies.
Identifies key avenues for business development.
Responsible for reviewing sales financials, including budgets, profitability, performance analytics, and interpreting data.
10% Develop and implement and monitors department policies and procedures.
Develop, implement and review Sales policies and procedures to optimize the efficiency of the Sales department.
Responsible for adhering to and enforcing policies, planning and strategy decisions for BCS and the Sales department.
Assist HR with identifying and recruiting quality candidates.
10% Manages Sales and Marketing ongoing training and development.
Contributes in skills training development.
Develop and execute the training path for all Sales staff.
Assists in mentoring and developing others in all aspects of the Sales department.
Studies literature and attends seminars to keep current in products, processed and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS : Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or related field.
Skills and Experience
Strong knowledge of building automation, HVAC concepts, and operations.
Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles, including : Supply chain, purchasing, finance, customer service, etc.
Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines.
Familiar with MS Office and other various business software (ERP, CRM, etc.).
Working knowledge of data analysis and performance / operations metrics.
Ability to build rapport and strengthen relationships with managers and employees.
Great planning and project management skills.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Organized with an attention to detail.
Proven track record of leading and developing others.

Valid driver’s license.
Other Requirements
Requires travel to and from job sites, primarily within the local area and Kansas.
Requires occasional overnight stays.
