What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Analyst I position at BCS Financial Corporation?
The Compliance Analyst I is responsible for form, rate and rule and filings with various state Departments of Insurance (DOIs); respond to inquiries from DOIs; negotiating and tracking filing approvals; and coordination of departmental notice upon receipt of filing approval. This individual may assist in reviewing and summarizing regulatory changes and providing inter-departmental or external notices of changes to ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements. The integral components, duties, and accountabilities of this position.
This position will report to the Compliance Manager.
- Preparation and submission of Product, form, rate, and rule filings countrywide, which includes:
- Compiling all required information for filing and processing the submissions with the state Department of Insurance (DOI); and
- Analyzing and responding to objections.
- Monitor filing status information and disseminating/communicating necessary information to product development team; updating status reports;
- Responsible for annual P&C and A&H state reports
- Regulatory Support – distributing Federal and State regulatory changes
- Research state requirements as needed to support state filings or other projects.
- Communicate with internal staff, outside clients and consultants, and state DOIs.
- Insurance Department Complaint routing, tracking, and maintenance.
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned (COA renewals; manage AP invoices)
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience needed
- Minimum of 2 years of insurance related experience
- Certificate in General Insurance or other certifications
- Regulatory Compliance (AIRC) designation or other related insurance designations or working toward the same.
Experience
- Experience with SERFF platform
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and various other computer applications,
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Product Development and independent program filing experience a plus.
