Position Overview
The Head of Information Technology is responsible for driving the enterprise-wide technology vision at BCS Financial. This role oversees IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, software development, data systems, and vendor partnerships to support business operations and compliance. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong communication and project management skills, ensuring alignment between IT and business goals. This leader will lead digital transformation, improve data governance, and protect against cyber risks, while providing secure, scalable, and customer-centric technology solutions. The role requires cross-functional collaboration, hands-on leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
This position will report to the President & Chief Executive Officer.
Essential Elements
- Lead enterprise IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with BCS business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee IT operations including infrastructure, cybersecurity, help desk, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Manage enterprise-wide technology projects and application implementations with a focus on efficiency and scalability.
- Own cybersecurity strategy and risk management, ensuring compliance with NIST and SOC 2 Type 2 frameworks.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, security controls, and incident response procedures.
- Partner with business leaders to implement solutions that enhance customer experience, productivity, and data access.
- Manage IT vendor relationships and third-party cybersecurity risk, including SLAs and contract oversight.
- Support data governance and analytics strategy by improving architecture, reporting, and access to business intelligence tools.
- Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a service-oriented, collaborative, and agile culture.
- Report regularly to executive leadership on IT performance, risks, priorities, and investments.
Requirements
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, or other information security certification preferred.
- PMP or similar project management certification a plus.
Experience
- 10 years in IT leadership, preferably in insurance or financial services.
- Proven success leading enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business applications.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and large-scale project execution.
- Strong communicator with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in data governance, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration.
