What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Director position at BCS Together?
The BCS Together Director of Communications will provide leadership and strategic direction in all areas of communications. This is a varied career opportunity that will set and guide BCS Together’s strategy for all communications, website, and marketing collateral to consistently articulate and advance BCS Together’s mission and strategic plan. The Director of Communications will work to ensure that all communications representing BCS Together reflects our branding and voice. This position will report to the Executive Director, work closely with senior leadership and staff throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communications plans with cost-effective marketing and
- outreach strategies to communicate with a range of donors and “clients” through
- printed and electronic media and advertising
- Create, write, edit, and produce press releases, publications, videos, newsletters,
- social media content, and other printed materials, including annual reports
- Update and maintain organization’s website, online publications, and social media
- Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as
- to test the effectiveness of communications activities
- Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic
- collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, event signage, and
- BCS Together’s website
- Track and measure the level of engagement through communications over time
- Ensure all communications stays true to branding
- Act as key contact person for all media communications
- Create dynamic social media communications and continually seek to grow and
- develop the most effective communications
- Responsible for aesthetics and communications for fundraising events
- Support Executive Director in development efforts
Requirements:
- Believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications
- strategies
- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to
- position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels
- Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all groups, including staff, board
- members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
- Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and
- implementing new initiatives
- Experienced in Canva, SquareSpace, Graphic Design, social media platforms
- Knowledgeable in computer skills
- Preferred: Basic photography and editing skills
- Preferred: 2 years work experience in social media/marketing/communications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekends as needed
