What you will do : The System Administrator is responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of HPC Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages the project IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems including software integration and check out; configuration management; and installing, upgrading, compiling and supporting COTS and GOTS software. Provides technical insights, expertise, and troubleshooting necessary to support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and issue resolution for all client server, storage, and network devices. This position will support the Government's software development, integration, and testing of new system capabilities and / or upgrades and enhances to existing systems. Task Description The successful candidate shall possess the experience and expertise to perform the following tasks : Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS / GOTS software.
Implement, troubleshoot and maintain IT systems.
Support day-to-day operations, monitor and implement problem resolutions for all project client / server / storage / network devices, configurable devices, etc.
Configure and manage UNIX (or other applicable) operating systems and install / load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Assist software developers and end-users in accessing and using IT systems.
Provide Tier 2 (Escalation) and Tier 3 (Support) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
Escalate and communicate system status to agency management and internal customers.
Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
Generated and / or update documentation for the full software stack.
Support both on-government site and remote, deployed IT systems.
Support the design of systems, mission architecture, and associated hardware.
What you need : In-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
Experience with software components and how they integrate into a system-of-system architecture; or sub-systems of complex HPC systems.
Experience using the Linux CLI.
Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Experience performing System Administration, including installation, configuration, and support of COTS / GOTS software, packages, and libraries in a Linux environment.
General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage components
Experience with VMware ESXi / Virtualization.
Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as Ansible and SaltStack.
Experience with various network communications like IP and InfiniBand.
Experience with configuring and managing various storage components.
Experience with hands-on troubleshooting, customer interfacing, issue resolution, discrepancy tracking, and report generation.
Experience with system fault-isolation and diagnosis. Understanding methods that can isolate the component, device or software module causing errors.
Experience maintaining a Security posture for an SSP including mitigating IAVAs and POAMs.
Experience with corporate SSP accreditation processes.
Must be able to communicate and coordinate with software and system engineers. Task Desired Skills : Experience with Centrify.
Experience developing scripts using Bash / Python.
Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Experience with sanitization of hardware, firmware, and / or software removed from computing environment in accordance with USG policies and procedures.
