SALARY
This position has a base salary range of is $60,000 - $90,000 Annual. This range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience and time in the role.
Summary
The Paralegal will be responsible for assisting the Credit Union’s Legal Department with various legal and regulatory matters. This position will assist with processing levies, garnishments, subpoenas, citations, writs, regulatory inquiries, and other legal requests. The role includes coordinating the production of documents with various internal departments and researching various matters as needed.

Summary
The Paralegal will be responsible for assisting the Credit Union’s Legal Department with various legal and regulatory matters. This position will assist with processing levies, garnishments, subpoenas, citations, writs, regulatory inquiries, and other legal requests. The role includes coordinating the production of documents with various internal departments and researching various matters as needed.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist with resolving a wide range of routine, day-to-day operational matters, including, but not limited to, powers of attorney, special accounts, and account research.
- Assist with processing levies, garnishments, citations, writs, and other legal documents.
- Gather relevant information/documentation in response to interrogatories, subpoenas, and internal inquiries.
- Assist with drafting responses to regulatory inquiries regarding the products and services provided to the Credit Union’s members, including by researching and directing the inquiries to the appropriate internal department for further response.
- Conduct legal research on the Internet, Westlaw, and other resources.
- Assist with case management and associated reporting for legal matters.
- Under the general direction of an attorney, assist with researching and resolving matters of varying complexity and with special projects as assigned.
- An associate degree is required and/or 2 years of related experience in a financial institution, government agency, or law firm.
- Minimum of 2 years of business experience, 5 years of business experience preferred.
- Experience working with levies, garnishments, citations, writs, subpoenas, powers of attorney, and other legal documents required.
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations impacting financial institution operations and those affecting deposit and loan accounts preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform legal research as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle numerous matters simultaneously, prioritizing and effectively managing time.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; team player; able to work in multi- functional groups; willing to assist others as needed.
- Proficient in relevant software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Application Xtender, and Symitar. Working knowledge of the Patriot Officer system a plus.
- Paralegal certifications and designations and/or and other legal and compliance financial industry certifications a plus.
