Job Summary : The Operations & Business Development Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans while driving to increased revenue and profit to achieve the Company`s ambitious growth and managing various disciplines of manufacturing processes to create a safe and innovative environment for manufacturing operations. They will also provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis : 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal / external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions :

  • Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS) and product / service to defined quality levels
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Plans, monitors, controls, and manages personnel to established production and quality control standards for specifications and delivery dates of products / services
  • Mentors Section Manager, Team Leads, and monitors staffing needs to meet workflow and customer requirements to maintain the effective operations and cost factors
  • Initiates and conducts process improvement communication with team members and management staff; daily start up meetings and communicates touch point to relay operational status, safety, and quality callouts and / or follow-up
  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and equipment
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality – practice and teach processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborates in various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Preventive Maintenance (PM), Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, ISO certification, etc.
  • Maintains and report out on KPI (Key Process Indicators) for area / product; assists with development of new impactful KPIs for areas and facility
  • Consults with engineering staff relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products
  • Directs, manages, and participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, and policies
  • Collaborates in development and implementation of sales plans to accommodate corporate goals
  • Drives sales to increase revenue and profitability while maintaining minimal operational expenses
  • Develop a dealer base in strategic regions that will maximize the company’s overall growth objectives
  • Manage dealer relationships and provide pipeline sales opportunities to the dealer base
  • Provides ongoing reporting to leadership to include recommendations on enhanced market penetration and increased revenue and other key business developments
  • Develops and organizes new business development initiatives
  • Oversee department budget
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure proper branding standards
  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Strong analytical skills and highly comfortable with numbers
  • Strategic thinker with very strong quantitative and qualitative analytic abilities and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline-oriented
  • Ability to develop process improvement methods and policies and implement those across multiple geographic areas and cross-functionally
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data and a high volume of transactions
  • Ability to read and comprehend computer-based schematics, specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, safety manuals, and other related publications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship building skills; customer retention
  • Knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen
  • Excellent formal presentation skills after both small and large groups
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Driven and results oriented; business development, KPIs, and market expansion to meet corporate targets
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Administration, or Construction Management is required; MBA preferred
  • More than five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required, eight or more preferred
  • Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Travel :
  • Up to 50%
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Physical Requirements :

  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • Work Environment :

  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment
  • Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold and humidity
  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
