What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Architect position at BDG Architects?
BDG Architects is seeking a highly skilled and creative Project Architect to join our dynamic team working from our Sarasota, FL office. The Project Architect will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, development of innovative architectural solutions for a wide range of projects, and business development for our Sarasota Studio. You will collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, and other architects to bring unique visions to life, ensuring functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal. A minimum of 7 years of experience is preferred working on multi-family/mixed-use, retail, and hospitality/restaurant projects.
Roles and Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
Lead the design process, from initial concept development to detailed design solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs and project objectives.
Manage and assist with work on all phases of various architectural projects including design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications, design review, coordination and correlation of construction drawings and review production drawings and specifications.
Coordinate and track project budgets and schedules to ensure efficient project delivery and quality from programming through project closeout.
Act as primary client contact for specific projects, ensure client development and satisfaction and assist to secure ongoing work.
Expand our market presence and drive revenue growth in the architectural industry by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and developing strategies to enhance the firm's market position.
Assist in preparation of fee proposals and agreements with the owner and consultants.
Assist with construction administration tasks including construction site visits, submittal, RFI reviews, and writing job status reports for the clients.
Provide direction and quality control reviews to project team members.
Establish and improve project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Required Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in Revit, Microsoft Office, and other relevant design and project management tools.
Ability to visualize and execute original design ideas.
Accuracy in technical drawings and measurements.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients.
Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Leadership abilities, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from conception to completion.
Education
Completion of professional architecture degree program.
Additional Requirements:
Licensure as a Registered Architect.
Experience with sustainable design principles and LEED certification is a plus.
