Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is crucial for the financial health of our organization, providing essential support in various accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Manage corporate accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Utilize accounting software to maintain financial data and generate reports.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management.
- Record debits and credits in accordance with established accounting principles.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing relevant financial information.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of transactions.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits and reviews.
- Work with the project manager and provide detailed financial reporting to ensure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted. Monitor any variances from the projected budget.
- Process all checks.
- Prepare annual reports for accountant.
- Use knowledge of local laws, across country, to comply with reporting requirements.
- Acquire, manage, and maintain GC and building licensing.
- Track and ensure subcontractors have provided the correct required information/documents needed for payments (federal ID number, proof of insurance with correct endorsements, signed/initialed contracts, lien waivers, etc.)
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related field is required.
- Strong understanding of bank reconciliation processes and corporate accounting practices.
- Knowledge of debits, credits, budgeting, and GAAP standards is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem-solve effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- The ability to meet deadlines.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
