IT Auditor

As an IT auditor, you will form part of a young and dynamic IT audit team, with accounting-savvy employees and managers.

Together with this team, you can contribute to the (IT) audit work and advice to SMEs, (large) international and/or listed companies.

As an experienced IT auditor, you look at risk management through IT glasses: for you, IT is not an end in itself, but a means that can be used to maximise performance, continuity and risk management at companies.

What will you be doing?

As a IT auditor your duties will include:

• Developing and completing the IT audit plans on time and within budget, in compliance with the International Standards on Auditing and BDO’s audit methodology;
• Obtaining an understanding of the IT environment of BDO clients, in support of the financial audit teams;
• Supporting junior auditors and providing guidance on performing IT audits;
• Performing the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements;
• Identifying weaknesses and suggesting improvements in the IT environment of BDO clients;
• Lead conversations with IT audit clients and manage client relationships;
• Directing and managing IT audit projects and communication with the financial audit teams

What do you bring to the table?

• Education and certification
  • You have a Master's degree (e.g. in Applied Economics, Management, Commercial Engineering or Computer Science) and a relevant background in IT audit;
  • Possession of certain certificates such as COBIT, ITIL, CISA, Prince2, CIA, etc. is a plus.

• Experience
  • You have four or more years of experience of information systems and operational auditing experience;
  • You have prior experience working within a public accounting and internal auditing environment, preferred;
  • Knowledge of current complex IT applications (SAP, Dynamics etc) is recommended;
  • You have an interest in the latest generation of software based on artificial intelligence, process mining and dashboarding;
  • You work in an organised and objective manner, have strong communication skills, enjoy coaching others, are result-oriented and can support your advice with clear arguments.
• Language skills
  • Knowledge (spoken and written) of English and Dutch or English and French.
