What will you be doing?

BDO’s Digital Advisory Teams are successful in providing strategy and management advice to IT and business leadership. As an IT Strategy and Governance expert you are engaged to working with our client’s IT leadership to develop digital strategies and assist in setting strategic deployment methods to ensure IT value realization. You will use leading practices in IT strategy, governance and management and translate these to a client’s context to ensure delivery of digital objectives that enable business results.

Key advisory responsibilities :

• Provide expert guidance and leadership to clients in developing and implementing IT/digital strategies and governance frameworks with the aim enhancing an organization’s business-IT alignment
• Work with clients to identify their business needs, translate them into IT strategic objectives and select a mix of governance & management practices to ensure digital value creation & realization
• Assist our client’s with their IT/digital strategic planning process that aims at implementing and designing policies, processes, and controls to optimize decision-making, risk management, and value realization within the IT/digital domain
• Collaborate with other members of our Advisory teams to infuse IT strategy & governance practices across other functional fields, such as contributions to risk advisory (e.g. audits & assessments), management consulting (e.g. overall strategy process & transformations) and deal & valuation services (e.g. IT Due Diligence and IT carve-out & Integration advisory)
• Conduct research on leading practices and industry trends to provide clients with the latest insights and innovations
• Be knowledgeable on leading practices and frameworks to define and implement standards to guide clients in making informed decisions (e.g. COBIT 2019, ITIL, Luftman, Technology Business Management (TBM), etc.)
• Assist clients in evaluating their IT/digital organizations, technology solutions and vendors to ensure that they align with the business objectives
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their evolving needs and provide ongoing support

Key team responsibilities :

• Assist in team development by coaching more junior team members
• Work across advisory teams to evangelize and infuse IT/Digital strategic thinking in in the existing service offerings, as well as assist in developing new offerings
• Foster knowledge sharing and provide internal trainings on IT/digital strategy & governance subjects
• Connect in the global BDO network and contribute to product / service development
• Act as  a driving factor in the commercial development of the team (pitching, proposal writing, …)

What do you bring to the table?

• Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering (option IT), Computer science, Business administration, or related field
• Ideally 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role within another consulting or corporate environment
• Proven expertise in Enterprise Architecture
• Certification or proven education in the field is a plus (e.g. IT Executive education, TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
• Outstanding communication skills fluency in English and Dutch or French
• Pragmatic and creative mindset
• Ability to work autonomously within a strong team setting
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
