Job Summary : The Senior Manager, Industry Specialty Services will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, providing client support in the areas of accounting, contracts, and pricing, and overseeing assigned associates, senior associates, and managers. This position will also be responsible for acting as the client contact, and training / supervising team members assisting on these engagements.Job Duties : Provides clients with technical advice as it pertains to various matters of government contract compliance including indirect cost rates, cost allowability, Cost Accounting Standard (CAS) and other compliance requirementsAssumes responsibility for all project phases and works directly with clients to accomplish project objectivesProvides direct and indirect cost rate structure design and analysis (including preparation of a comprehensive forward pricing model) Supports government contractors during the bidding process through cost and price volume development, analysis of RFPs and cost narrative preparationInterprets Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements in order to make recommendations to clientsPrepares client Disclosure StatementsSupports other types of compliance needs related to procurement, contract, human resources, and other business processesServes as a technical expert for client questions as they ariseOften operates as the primary point of contact with support from principals where neededAssists principals in qualifying opportunities and scoping engagementsAids in firm development activities and other marketing initiatives including but not limited to, attending conferences, networking, developing internal and external practice development opportunities and identifying cross servicing opportunities Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities : Supervises, develops, and trains associates, senior associates and managersReviews and evaluates work prepared by associates, senior associates and managersTrains associates and senior associates on how to use current software tools and Industry Specialty Services methodologyProvides verbal and written performance feedback to associates, senior associates, and managersActs as Career Advisor to associates, senior associates, and managersQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Education : Bachelor’s degree, required; with a focus in Accounting or Finance, requiredExperience : Eight (8) or more years of experience conducting cost analysis, cost estimates, and proposals, requiredPrior experience addressing Federal procurement issues on behalf of government contractors, requiredPrior experience supporting indirect rates, cost allowability and allocability matters, FAR 31 / CAS compliance, requiredPrior experience with HHS (Health and Human Services) and DOD (Department of Defense) contracts, preferredLicense / Certifications : CPA or CFE, preferredSoftware : Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, requiredLanguage : N / AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business / report writingStrong analytical and basic research skills Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detailsAbility to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environmentProven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, and GSA schedulesAbility to follow and apply specific rules and regulationsAbility to work with minimal supervisionIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range : $150,000 - $190,000Maryland Range :  $150,000 - $190,000NYC / Long Island / Westchester Range :  $150,000 - $190,000Join us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
