Job Summary:
The Business Development Analyst Team at BDO is a virtual team of specialized, client-focused, and high-performing professionals who support and execute on Business Development strategies.
The Business Development Analyst supports the business development function within assigned offices/practices by providing research and preparation materials on target industries, markets and companies using publicly available sources and the firm’s internal customer relationship management (CRM) system. The position will also support pursuit strategy and execution including market research, lead generation efforts, pipeline support, meeting preparation and debrief and other administrative duties as required.
Job Duties:
- Conducts research on target industries, markets, companies, clients and competitors, across a variety of platforms
- Collaborates with principals and Business Development Director(s) on researching the market, specific prospects, and provides detailed prospect profiles
- Assists Business Development Director(s) in tracking wins and/or losses for assigned office(s) through Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and preparing detailed reports for debrief meetings
- Supports lead generation and prospect research activities through the internet and various online databases
- Leverages national marketing and sales research applications, and follows consistent guidelines in preparing company/prospect profiles
- CRM Resource – uses Intermediate to Advanced level CRM knowledge and proficiency in order to create reports that will provide the information that BD Leader is looking for in order to make their decision.
- Power BI Resource – develops Intermediate to Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Power BI in order to create advanced finds and reports that will provide the BD Leader with data to support their needs
- Supports digital marketing and in person event follow-up activities and tracking in CRM
- Supports networking events as necessary – both preparation and follow up support
- Assists with the proposal process, as needed
- Tracks Sales Pipeline by maintaining and distributing scheduled reports and updating the CRM system

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:
- High School Diploma, required; AND, five (5) or more years of business development experience in a professional services environment or industry relevant firm, required, OR
- Bachelor’s degree, required; major in Business, Finance, Marketing, or Communications, preferred; AND two (2) or more years of business development, marketing, and/or project management related experience in a professional services environment, required
Experience:
- Prior experience working in the professional services direct sales industry or in an analyst, development or marketing role at a financial services firm, including but not limited to experience with accounting firms, investment banking or private equity firms, personnel recruiting, business journals sales, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking industry, preferred
License/Certifications:
- N/A
Software:
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and advanced knowledge of Excel, preferred
- Experience working with online research tools and databases, including ZoomInfo, Hoovers, etc., preferred
- Knowledge of CRM systems, preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics, preferred
- Microsoft Power BI, preferred
- Working knowledge of LinkedIn, preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $65,000 - $75,000
California Range: $65,000 - $75,000
Colorado Range: $65,000 - $75,000
Maryland Range: $65,000 - $75,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $65,000 - $75,000
