What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Truck Driver position at BDX Performance?
We are seeking experienced CDL Truck Drivers to operate 3500 Ram Dually trucks with 40-foot gooseneck trailers for nationwide ATV/UTV deliveries.
A typical trip might start with dropping off the first vehicle in Knoxville, TN, followed by stops in Memphis, TN, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. You'll then deliver a vehicle in Texas, make another stop in Texas, and finally head to Dallas to pick up a load of crated vehicles before returning to Virginia.
Drivers will be responsible for picking up and delivering both fully assembled units and crated, unassembled units. These deliveries will be made to various locations including the South Hill BDX warehouse, customer residences, and businesses. The drivers are expected to provide timely and professional service at all times. Their duties will include loading and unloading the units with care, adhering to delivery schedules, and maintaining communication with dispatch to ensure smooth operations.
Drivers will also be required to handle any special instructions from customers, ensure proper documentation of deliveries, and maintain the cleanliness and safety of their trucks and loaded vehicles. Overall, the goal is to provide exceptional customer service and ensure that all deliveries are completed efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Operate truck and trailer for vehicle deliveries.
- Load and unload vehicles, securing them appropriately.
- Communicate directly with customers about delivery routes and delivery ETAs (must contact customer via phone/text; customer service excellence expected).
- Represent BDX Performance professionally and courteously.
- Inspect vehicles with customers and demonstrate basic functions.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance (PM) on trucks.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip truck and trailer inspections.
- Utilize hotshot apps for return loads when necessary.
- Collaborate with other drivers and the logistics team to maximize efficiency.
- Report and aid in the de-escalation of customer issues.
Requirements:
- Valid CDL (any class) driver's license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of five years’ experience operating trucks and 40-foot gooseneck trailers.
- Proficient in using GPS and hotshot apps.
- Strong reading and directional skills.

- Being able to drive safely during long-hauls and overnight trips is a MUST as we operate with 24/7 customer delivery.
