Be Wealth is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Planning Associate to join our team. This role will be pivotal in developing and implementing tax-efficient strategies for clients, focusing on minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing after-tax wealth. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in tax planning, preferably with experience in serving high-net-worth individuals, small business owners, and farm operators.
Client-Centered Tax Strategy Development
- Collaborate with CPA’s / Tax preparation specialists, and wealth managers to assess clients' financial situations and identify tax planning opportunities.
- Develop customized, forward-thinking tax strategies to minimize clients' short- and long-term tax liabilities.
- Review and analyze clients' tax returns, identifying areas for improvement in tax efficiency.
- Prepare and file tax returns for clients.
Proactive Tax Management
- Monitor and stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations at federal, state, and local levels, and proactively advise clients on potential impacts.
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and manage timelines to meet filing deadlines for individual, business, and estate tax matters as applicable.
Collaborative Financial Planning Support
- Work closely with Wealth Managers and estate planning teams to integrate tax considerations into comprehensive financial plans.
- Provide guidance on charitable giving, estate tax planning, retirement distributions, and other wealth management considerations.
Client Education and Relationship-Building
- Educate clients on tax implications of financial decisions and strategies in a clear, client-friendly manner.
- Develop trusted, lasting relationships with clients by delivering consistent, high-quality service and demonstrating a commitment to their financial well-being.
Operational Excellence
- Utilize tax planning software and tools to enhance analysis and efficiency.
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records on all client tax matters in Be Wealth systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA licensure or Enrolled Agent designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax planning, preparation, and strategy development.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients, business owners, and/or farm operators is highly desirable.
- Proficient knowledge of federal and state tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients in an approachable way.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting / tax preparation software, including QuickBooks
- Knowledge of estate planning and corporate accounting practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $67,500.00 - $72,500.00 per year
