Be Well Transitional Living is seeking a part time Certified Recovery Specialist for a Men's dual diagnosis transition house.
Job Overview:
Currently hiring for one part-time position.
The Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) is a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator and is willing to partner with residents of the transition house to help facilitate their recovery and community integration through utilization of the Specialist’s own personal life experience and first-hand recovery knowledge.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the CRS include provision of on-site coverage, instruction for/supervision of residents in meeting life domain needs and learning new skills, and coaching residents in achieving recovery goals. CRS’s provide support to residents according to individual need and in alignment with their Mental Health/Drug Court and/or treatment/rehabilitation provider goal plans. Persons in this position promote a positive and supportive environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience
- Must have proof to show completion and passing of a Pennsylvania CRS training program, including written examination, offered in accordance with guidelines defined by the applicable state and county requirements, OR must be pursuing said training and have plans to complete program once courses are offered.
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license.
- Preferred one year experience working as a CRS in any capacity.
- Those with CPS training also encouraged to apply.
Skills/Competencies

recovery principles including:
- Respect: has a positive demeanor and is empathetic; is respectful of the desires of residents and their reference group or culture.
- Engagement: is ability to relate to residents based upon where they are in the recovery process, utilizing strategies such as Motivational Interviewing and affirmation to build an open relationship and develop mutual trust.
- Communication: has the skills necessary to adapt verbal and written communication to the language style of the individual receiving services and his/her supports; demonstrates active listening skills.
- Social and Cultural Factors: has knowledge about how cultural and socioeconomic factors affect the recovery of residents; ability to identify social and cultural resources that can facilitate recovery.
- Confidentiality: ability to maintain and reinforce the importance of confidentiality while encouraging inclusion of support system members.
Compensations/Benefits:
Hourly rate based on experience. Benefits offered to full-time employees.
