We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist to join our team.
Position Summary:
The Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable affordable housing regulations, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Section 8, HUD, and other government-assisted programs. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of affordable housing compliance requirements, and the ability to work effectively with property management teams. Experience working with cities in Los Angeles, Kern County, Riverside, and Orange County is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, and other affordable housing programs.
- Conduct file audits and reviews to ensure proper documentation and eligibility requirements are met.
- Assist property managers with income certifications, annual recertifications, and tenant file management.
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local housing regulations and provide guidance to staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to compliance activities.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
- Provide training and support to property management staff on compliance-related matters.
- Assist in resolving compliance-related issues and discrepancies.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in affordable housing compliance.
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC, Section 8, HUD, and other affordable housing programs.
- Experience conducting file audits and working with tenant income certifications.
- Experience working with affordable housing programs in cities within Los Angeles, Kern County, Riverside, and Orange County.
- Proficiency in property management software (Yardi, RealPage, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
- Certification in Tax Credit Compliance (TCS, HCCP, or equivalent) preferred.
