Location : Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)

Reports Into : Senior Director, Global Marketing

What You'll Do :

  • Decode Platforms : Master the ever-evolving art and science of Instagram, YouTube, Snap and Pinterest (and the next thing right around the corner), leveraging data to crack algorithms and drive engagement, conversation and commerce.
  • Content Master : Conceptualize and create content that cuts through the noise on social, being the first to own trends while establishing our unique brand codes.
  • Create Iconic Campaigns : Know when to follow the rules (and when to break them) to create social-first campaigns that become cultural phenomena.
  • Build Community : Cultivate a die-hard fandom by building a culture-driven community that feels personal, obsessive and completely one-of-a-kind.
  • Stay Ahead of Culture : Know where culture is headed before anyone else does. Be the tastemaker, the nonconformist, the person who defines what's cool before it's mainstream.
  • Make Data Cool : Obsess over insights, analytics and trends to back bold ideas with the science of social success.
  • Day-to-Day Responsibilities :

  • Lead day-to-day channel management and operation including community management, copywriting, and content publishing across vertical social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snap and Pinterest)
  • Ideate and create highly engaging content, ensuring it ladders up to the brand content pillars and helps fuel channel growth and engagement
  • Produce, film, and edit organic video content into social assets that can be syndicated to across platforms, retailers, and relevant partners
  • Appear on camera as in-house talent on social activations and offline experiences
  • Capture content on site for all influencer and brand events
  • Manage the visual content calendar, creative briefs, and asset delivery in partnership with the marketing and creative team.
  • Utilize analytics platforms and survey competitive landscape to share insights and cultural trends in real-time
  • Manage content creation and curation process (including photo and video shoots) for organic and paid social
  • Manage and utilize social media analytics tools for variety of team projects including monthly reports, launch reports, content deep dives, and competitive benchmarking
  • Present social media performance and competitive findings in monthly team meetings
  • Conceptualize, plan, and edit social photoshoots in partnership with Senior Director, Marketing and Creative Director
  • Develop content briefs for in-house talent, influencer, and community creators to film social content and and educational / training videos
  • Collaborate with Ulta, Marketing, Sales and Creative teams for content and campaign development that align with global brand objectives
  • Lead strategy and execution of community-exclusive programming, offers, and experiences shared through IG Broadcast channel and TYB in partnership with Senior Director, Marketing and DTC team.
  • What You Bring :

  • 5 years in Social Media Marketing, ideally in house at a beauty or lifestyle brand
  • Immersed in social landscape and understands the algorithms, best practices, and trending content for creating engaging content
  • Familiar with social commerce platforms of TikTok, IG, YT, and Snap
  • Strategic, proactive and has a keen attention to detail
  • Experience with community management, customer service and social engagement
  • Strong photography and videography skills—ability to tell stories and create compelling content
  • 24-7 pulse on all things Gen-Z and internet culture; well-versed on the latest social media trends, platforms, and services
  • Excellent copywriting skills that can effectively merge brand voice and cultural trends
  • Experience working with creators and unleashing their best work
  • The ability to combine data-driven insights with bold, creative intuition
