Beach Lake Sprinkler Fire Protection Services, a subsidiary of Davis-Ulmer Sprinkler Company, was founded in 1992 and is a well-rounded fire protection company with two offices: Beach Lake, PA and Brooksville, FL. We excel in new construction, renovation, retrofit, and service work for warehouse, distribution, pharmaceutical, hospital, nursing home, industrial, residential and retail markets.
Due to continued growth, we are excited to add a Fire System Inspector to our team in Brooksville, Fl. In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. The ideal candidate has experience with both fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and compliance of fire protection systems, protecting lives, property, and businesses. Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing:
Perform routine inspections and tests of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet code requirements.
Utilize testing equipment to verify the functionality of system components, such as smoke detectors, sprinkler heads, control valves, and alarms.
Document deficiencies, discrepancies, or areas in need of repair and create detailed inspection reports for customers and management.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Identify and troubleshoot issues within fire alarm and sprinkler systems during the inspection process.
Perform minor repairs and adjustments to systems as needed or escalate major repairs to the appropriate team.
Collaborate with technicians to address and resolve complex system issues.
Code Compliance:
Verify that all systems are in compliance with national (e.g., NFPA standards), state, and local fire safety codes and regulations.
Stay up to date with industry standards, technology updates, and code changes related to fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
Customer Service:
Communicate findings and inspection results effectively to customers, explaining recommended actions or required system upgrades.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing professional and thorough service and addressing any concerns promptly.
Educate customers on system operation and provide recommendations for future inspections or maintenance.
Safety Protocols:
Follow all safety guidelines while working in various environments to ensure the safety of yourself, team members, and building occupants.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow company safety procedures at all times.
Recordkeeping:
Accurately complete and submit inspection reports, deficiency lists, and compliance certifications to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
Maintain thorough records of inspections, repairs, and system performance history.
Assist with scheduling future inspections and follow-ups as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or degree in fire protection, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, National Electric Code (NEC), and applicable local fire safety regulations.
Certifications such as NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) in Fire Alarm Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Inspection, Testing, & Maintenance are highly preferred.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (for travel to inspection sites).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
