Landscaper II
Showcase your leadership abilities by guiding a team of 2-5 members. Your responsibilities would include ensuring that assigned tasks are carried out safely, efficiently, and up to quality standards. As a crew leader, you would supervise teams engaged in diverse situations including basic maintenance, landscape installation, and supportive services such as irrigation, seasonal color management, and chemical applications. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties which include:
Performance and Quality:
- Supervising day-to-day site operations and assigning tasks to crew members
- Maintaining a schedule and ensuring that service expectations are consistently met
- Identifying more efficient methods for task execution and communicating them effectively with supervisors and subordinates
- Abide by all control and best practices landscaping methods
- Safeguard equipment and tools from theft and misuse
- Hands on duties including but not limited to pruning, weeding, mowing or any other tasks generally associated with the landscaping industry
- Paperwork organization and record keeping
- Comply with business ethics, applicable laws and regulations
- Maintaining a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with customers
- Bringing client concerns to the attention of supervisors while actively contributing to finding resolutions
Crew Management:
- Offering feedback on crew members to supervisors
- Assisting your supervisor in the training and development of crew members
- Ability to work and manage crews in extreme weather conditions (direct sunlight, wind and rain), lift and carry 50lbs, and the ability to twist, bend and stoop continuously throughout the day as needed
Safety:
- Ensuring that all crew members perform their duties safely and in adherence to company policies
- Verifying that equipment is in good working order and undergoes appropriate preventative maintenance
- Recording equipment usage and maintenance cycles
You might be a good fit if you:
- Maintain open communication with co-workers and office staff
- Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and the ability to obtain a DOT medical certificate
- Have at least 6 months landscape or related field experience
- Have at least 6 months leadership experience (preferred but not required)
