The Maples is seeking highly skilled and compassionate Primary Therapist for The Maples in Fort Worth, Texas. The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing therapy and support to adolescents and their families, helping them navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and develop effective coping strategies.

The Primary Therapist is responsible for providing therapy and support to adolescents and their families, helping them navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and develop effective coping strategies. This role involves conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions, facilitating family involvement in the treatment process, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required. This role involves conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions, facilitating family involvement in the treatment process, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Provide crisis intervention and support to families experiencing acute distress.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with state and facility guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and discharge planning.
- Provide family therapy sessions to help improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships between adolescents and their families.
- Conduct individual therapy sessions with residents as needed to support personal growth, emotional regulation, and treatment goals.
- Lead group therapy sessions focused on family dynamics, conflict resolution, and relational healing.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the needs of each resident and their family.
- Educate families on mental health, substance use, and eating disorder recovery strategies to promote long-term healing.
- Facilitate family education workshops and multi-family support groups as part of the treatment process.
- Collaborate with the clinical team, case managers, and direct care staff to ensure a coordinated approach to treatment.
- Master's degree in social work or counseling from an accredited university or equivalent education in the treatment of addictive disorders
- Maintains a current and unrestricted license with his/her respective professional board or licensing authority in the state of Texas
- Has a minimum of one year of qualifying clinical experience as an LMHP in the provision of services provided by the provider-one year of post graduate experience preferred.
- Experience in a residential, impatient, or intensive outpatient setting.
- Expertise in family systems therapy, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based treatment approaches for adolescents.
- Strong ability to facilitate family therapy and engage parents/guardians in the treatment process.
- Knowledge of adolescent development, attachment theory, and relational dynamics.
- Excellent communication, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary treatment environment.
- Passion for helping families heal and grow together.
