We are seeking a therapist licensed in the state of Louisiana as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) that will support The Maples inHammond, Louisiana. The LMHP helps patients, and their families understand and cope with medical conditions, providing support and resources to address emotional, financial, and social needs arising from a diagnosis.

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required. Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Provides direct care to clients utilizing the core competencies of addiction counseling and/or mental health counseling
- Serves as primary counselor to a specified caseload
- Serves as a resource person for other professionals in his/her specific area of expertise
- Participates in individual care conferences, treatment planning, and discharge planning
- Participates in rotating Saturday therapist coverage for the facility
- Provides on-site and direct, professional supervision of students, interns, and unlicensed professionals, as assigned
- Co-signs all notes written by students, interns, and unlicensed professionals under his/her supervision
- Functions as the Client's advocate in all treatment decisions affecting the client
- Prepares and writes notes or other documents related to treatment and recovery (e.g., assessment, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge, etc.)
- Collaborates will all disciplines to ensure the highest quality of care for clients
- Performs other duties and special projects as required
- Has a master's degree in social work or counseling from an accredited university or equivalent education in the treatment of addictive disorders
- Maintains a current and unrestricted license with his/her respective professional board or licensing authority in the state of Louisiana
