The Genesis Private Practice located in Old Metairie, is hiring an LCSW and/or LPC to join our therapy team. The Genesis provides services to adolescents, families and adults. We offer an employee centered workplace with hands on training. Our therapist work full time hours and the standard office hours are typically till 6:00PM, Monday thru Friday in efforts to meet the needs of the clients.
Who We Are
Our holistic approach incorporates the family system into treatment by providing weekly family therapy sessions for our clients throughout the course of treatment. Therapist must be familiar with applying trans-theoretical approach to treatment in order to provide tailored interventions that meet our clients’ needs and goals, our most common treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Our goal is to employ these evidence-based treatments in order to motivate change and create a healthier life balance in not only our clients' lives but also within their family units.
Our Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program is an evidence based, professionally directed, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery program provided to adolescents and their caregivers who are in need of mental health or substance use services in an organized outpatient setting.
Our therapist must have experience in topics such as: self-esteem and belonging, identity and values, dealing with loss and depression, autonomy & interdependence, managing anxiety, peer relationships, and healthy family relationships.

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential job functions.

Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Provides clinical interventions (individual sessions and group sessions to adolescents, families and/or adults in accordance with the physician’s plan of treatment.
- Assesses and reassesses social and emotional factors to help the patient and family cope with problems in daily living to help them follow medical recommendations to maximize the client’s health condition.
- Develops the plan of care with the multidisciplinary clinical team
- Documents individualized multidisciplinary progress notes and group progress notes with accuracy, timeliness and according to policies.
- Submits accurate documentation within mandated time frame.
- Keeps abreast of mental health and therapy trends and knowledge. Participates in in-service programs.
- Cooperates with appropriate staff to provide staff education when requested and arranged by either Corporate Staff Educator and/or facility Leadership.
- Serves as a liaison in the community as needed.
- Advocates for patient rights (confidentiality, ethical issues, complaints, participates and is advised of the care).
- Facilitate case management services and coordinate discharge planning with other multidisciplinary treatment team members for all assigned patients.
- Participates in PI clinical record audits as delegated by facility Leadership.
- Strictly adheres to the code of ethics as defined by State licensure codes of ethics.
- Maintains universal precautions while administering care to clients and is knowledgeable of policies, procedures, and protocol regarding infection control.
- Follows all facilities policies and procedures.
- Must be licensed by the State where your hiring facility is located by either LPC or LCSW.
- 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support required (for IOP staff).
