What does the Patient Care Technician do? (including but not limited to)
The Patient Care Technician plays a crucial role in the administration and oversight of patient care during Spravato and TMS treatments, which are aimed at treating adult patients with treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorders. This position requires a blend of administrative and direct patient care responsibilities, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Managing physician and schedules related to Spravato and TMS treatments
- Obtaining prior authorizations.
- Maintaining authorizations for active patients
- Assisting with patient care and medication ordering from various pharmacies to each center
- Maintaining compliance with REMS, DEA, Med log audits, etc.
- Auditing Charts as needed
- Providing education and information to patients regarding Treatment
- Conducting regular vitals checks on patients during treatment
- Documenting treatment notes in EHR and handling all medical information in compliance with HIPAA
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- One year of healthcare experience.
- Medical Assistant preferred but not required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong computer and data entry skills required
Physical Demands:
This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
