Beacon Behavioral Support Services seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Behavioral Hospital-New Orleans Westbank location. As an RN in our hospital, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient. Your role will be critical in helping our patients achieve their treatment goals and improve their overall quality of life. We provide a $10,000 retention bonus or newly hired FT RNs.
Beacon Behavioral Support Services is one of the largest and most established behavioral health programs in Louisiana. For 25 years, Beacon employs caring staff at locations across southeast Louisiana : Baton Rouge, Metairie, Slidell, Hammond, Bogalusa, Bunkie, Opelousas, and Lutcher. We currently provide inpatient programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that provide therapy to those struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders.
Over the past 3 years, Beacon has expanded its service line to partner with Psychiatric Private Practices in TX, AR, MS, FL, PA and more to come in 2025.

What does the Registered Nurse do? (including but not limited to)
As an Registered Nurse in our hospital, you will utilize your strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and excellent communication skills to provide exceptional patient care. You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be essential in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. Additionally, your ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations will be critical in providing the best possible care for our patients. Overall, your skills will be utilized to provide the highest quality of care for our patients and contribute to the success of our hospital.
Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Assessing and monitoring patients' physical and emotional well-being
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Documenting patient progress and communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Always ensuring the safety and well-being of patients
The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience :
Minimum Qualifications :
Active RN license in the state of Louisiana
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital setting
BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications :
At least 2 years’ experience working in a behavioral health setting
Certification in psychiatric nursing
ACLS certification
