What does the Phlebotomist/Spravato Technician do? (including but not limited to)
You will initiate the intravenous IV line and administer ketamine infusions. The Phlebotomist/Spravato Technician is tasked with providing administrative oversight and supervising patient care throughout the Spravato administration and treatment process.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log and bringing discrepancies to the attention of unit personnel.
- Managing physician and procedure schedules related to Spravato treatments
- Obtaining prior authorizations for new patients
- Maintaining authorizations for active patients
- Assisting with patient care and medication ordering from various pharmacies to each center
- Maintaining compliance with REMS, DEA, Med log audits, etc.
- Auditing Spravato Charts as needed
- Assisting with Spravato consults as needed
- Providing a safe and therapeutic environment for daily treatment sessions
- Providing education and information to patients regarding Spravato Treatment
- Conducting regular vitals checks on patients during Spravato treatment
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Phlebotomist certification
- First aid certification
- CMA license, CNA license or Med Technician certification required.
Physical Demands:
This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
