What You Will Do
- Respond promptly to customer (roofers) requests via phone and email, addressing inquiries regarding price quotes, product availability, orders, vendor returns, billing issues, product details, order modifications, and cancellations
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns efficiently and professionally
- Process purchase orders using internal and external systems
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tile manufacturers and customers through phone and in-person meetings
- Coordinate order deliveries and loading with vendors and third-party loaders
- Communicate customer issues and requirements to the Outside Sales team
- Generate price quotes promptly and accurately
- Ensure compliance with customer financial service policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date open order files in the computer system; oversee each order from initiation to completion, ensuring timely billing and collaborating with the Accounts Payable Department when needed
- Adhere to pricing guidelines set by the Tile Department Manager
- Regularly update customer price lists based on vendor price adjustments
- Review all orders to anticipate additional customer needs
- Provide seamless support to colleagues during their absence, keeping the team’s goals in mind
- Collaborate with branches as necessary
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Tile Department Manager
- Previous customer service experience; building products industry experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team
- Knowledge of building materials is a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally via email with customers to ensure full understanding of order processes
- Spanish bilingual proficiency preferred
- Ability to quickly learn and retain a wide range of product knowledge
- Experience in multitasking with excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Adherence to standardized communication guidelines set by the Manager to maintain consistency and set customer expectations
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred
