Job Purpose:
The Director of Accounting Operations is directly responsible for overseeing and managing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting functions. The Director of Accounting Operations will also be a key leadership role instrumental in evaluating and optimizing accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role involves driving change management initiatives aimed at process improvement and scaling to support Beacon's expansion. Additionally, the Director will help lead the integration of accounting systems for newly acquired businesses, ensuring seamless transitions. The salary range for this role is between $120,000 USD and $150,000 USD, commensurate on a combination of relevant job experience, education, and other factors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide oversite of general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Continue to improve, develop, implement, and manage financial process controls and procedures.
- Perform monthly close tasks and reports prepared by staff.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor compliance processes.
- Evaluate and optimize accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement to support the company's growth.
- Lead the integration of accounting systems and processes for acquired businesses.
- Drive change management initiatives focused on process improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and efficiency in accounting operations.
- Prepare various analyses and other specialized reports as necessary.
- Work closely with the management team to share reports and analysis findings
- Recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating department staff

Education, License and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting operations, with a strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting.
- Experience in evaluating and optimizing accounting systems and processes.
- Strong leadership and proven change management skills.
- Experience with system integrations and project management.
- 7-10 years of experience as Accounting Director or similar role.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
