What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Loan Processor position at Beacon Credit Union?
Note: This position could be based at various Beacon lending locations in Indiana with available office space. This currently includes offices in Wabash, Auburn, Marion, Peru, Crawfordsville and Washington.
Role
To complete all processing activities for consumer loan applications while effectively providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to members, vendors and credit union staff.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes new consumer loans on loan origination and core systems ensuring that all data is accurately entered. Ensures all disclosures have been generated accurately in compliance with lending policies and delivered as required.
- Obtains and reviews all necessary documents from the member and any other applicable third parties that are required in order to meet Credit Union partner product/guidelines.
- Images and/or uploads loan documents and all supporting documentation to electronic storage system.
- Performs a following day review for every new loan booked by other processors to verify accuracy of key fields per departmental procedures.
- Assists lending personnel with inquiries and requests regarding consumer loans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
One to three years of loan or related banking experience
High school diploma or HSE equivalency
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel)
Ability to communicate (both oral and written) using courtesy, tact, and diplomacy
Excellent member service skills both internally and externally
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Extremely detail-oriented
Excellent time management skills
Standard position hours are 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on a rotating Saturday (standardly every other Saturday). When working Saturday morning, this employee will have a half day off during the same calendar week.
