What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dermatology Clinical Nurse Lead position at Beacon Dermatology?

The clinical lead will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of patient care
within the medical and surgical dermatology clinical setting. The clinical lead will
ensure high quality standards are met by leading the nursing team, managing
clinical processes, and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives to
optimize patient outcomes and staff satisfaction. The clinical lead will provide
guidance and support to the nursing team, while monitoring clinical performance
and identifying areas for improvement.

Clinical Oversight:
1. Direct and assign clinical staff to duties to ensure pathology, labs, and
tasks are addressed without delay.
2. Direct and assign clinical staff to duties to ensure best patient flow, reduce
wait times, and prevent treatment delays or issues.
3. Monitor patient flow, wait times, and treatment delays at Beacon
Dermatology for Providers and the Phototherapy services.
4. Perform weekly testing of eyewash station by activating the eyewash
station to confirm proper water flow and pressure.
5. Perform monthly sterilization monitoring test for autoclave.
6. Perform monthly maintenance for autoclave including cleaning and
replacing water.
7. Meet 1:1 with nursing team members to gather feedback, identify needs,
and mentor.
Communication and Collaboration:
1. Communicate quickly and effectively with Provider(s), Practice Manager and Clinical Director when/if problems or issues arise.
2. Manage conflicts and issues for patients and staff in a fair and professional
manner.
3. Work closely and collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and
administrative staff to align practices and enhance service delivery at
Beacon Dermatology.
Quality Improvement:
1. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in patient flow and recommend
actionable solutions promptly.
2. Collaborate with Provider(s), Practice Manager, and Clinical Director to
design and implement any process improvement initiatives.
3. Lead quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes - 1
project per quarter.
4. Facilitate 2 training sessions per quarter for staff on clinical processes and
patient flow strategies.
5. Engage with patients and families to gather feedback regarding their
experience and incorporate insights into improvement strategies.
Miscellaneous:
1. Assist with inventory management in office as needed.
2. Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:
1. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
2. Medical office experience 2 years required
3. Dermatology experience preferred
Certification and Licensure:
1. North Carolina RN license required

2. Occasional reaching, bending and stooping
3. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds, with assistance if
needed
