Essential Job Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with GAAP, FEC regulations, and company procedures in all accounting and financial reporting activities.
Oversee and manage the preparation of periodic financial statements, including reviews, investigations, and corrections of financial entries and reports.
Supervise the month-end close process and ensure the timely and accurate compilation of Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.
Lead and develop accounting policies, procedures, and system controls while driving continuous improvement in financial operations.
Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring the preparation of supporting schedules and work papers for annual financial reviews.
Recruit, develop, and supervise accounting staff, providing leadership and mentorship to enhance team performance.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Proven ability to develop and implement financial policies, manage fixed assets, and oversee multi-entity or fund accounting structures.
Experience in public accounting, auditing, or nonprofit financial management is desirable.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial software such as Microsoft Great Plains.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
