Fast-paced immigration law firm located in Lawrence, MA, seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Immigration Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist and support our attorneys in immigration litigation practice, preparation of immigrant visas, family-based petitions, naturalization and asylum applications. The candidate must demonstrate strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities :
- Client and Case Management :
o Maintain client contact information
o Provide status updates to attorneys and clients as directed
o Update case management system
o Draft, prepare and review applications, petitions, motions and sworn declarations to be filed with government agencies
o Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency
o Maintain and organize files
o File documents internally and with government agencies
o Assist in trial preparation
o Draft, prepare, review, and edit appropriate legal documents
o Communicate regularly with clients regarding procedural and case processing issues, assisting with the review of cases
o Learn procedural and processing requirements for various types of court cases, non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications among other processes
o Build knowledge of firm and client processes
o Work closely in a team environment
o Prioritize and assign cases, monitor workload and production
o Identify ways to improve team productivity and office-wide projects.
o Follow company policies and procedures
o Handle confidential information and materials in a trustworthy fashion
