Overview:
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Project Cost Analyst to join our growing accounting team. This role will support accurate project costing, revenue recognition, and the month-end close process. The analyst will track project financials, reconcile costs, and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting and billing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly close activities related to project accounting and revenue recognition.
- Monitor project financial performance, comparing actual costs to budgets or forecasts.
- Ensure accuracy of project-related transactions including labor, materials, and overhead.
- Identify and investigate cost variances and coordinate adjustments with project teams.
- Prepare and issue final billings in collaboration with Account and Project Managers.
- Review and reconcile accounts for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation.
- Process accruals for outstanding project-related expenses not yet invoiced.
- Coordinate with accounts receivable to monitor collections and resolve billing issues.
- Support external audit processes with accurate documentation and reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to maintain clean and auditable records.
- Participate in process improvements and help implement automation where possible.
- Contribute to budget reviews and project forecasting efforts.
- Perform other related duties and ad hoc analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, project cost analysis, or financial operations.
- Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
