Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Expert to join our team at Beacon Hill. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our sales tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance Management: Ensure full compliance with state and local sales tax regulations, maintaining accurate and timely preparation and filing of all sales tax returns.
• Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to review and enhance the organization's current sales tax processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and streamlining.
• Tax Research: Continuously monitor and research changes in sales tax laws, making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance with new legislation or regulations.
• Record Keeping: Ensure accurate, complete, and organized records of all sales tax filings, payments, and communications.
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed sales tax reports for senior management, highlighting key findings, issues, and suggestions for process improvements.
• Process Enhancement: Proactively identify areas of the sales tax process that can be enhanced or automated to increase accuracy, reduce manual work, and improve overall compliance efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales tax administration or a similar role, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and ensure compliance.
• Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of state and local sales tax regulations.
• Proven ability to research complex tax issues and resolve discrepancies.
• High proficiency with accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive process improvements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with internal teams and external tax authorities.
