What does the Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant do? (including but not limited to)
As a Licensed Practical Nurse , you are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self-care, and documenting patient information thoroughly; all while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team and patients. As a Medical Assistant your responsibilities will include the following : Coordinating appointments : Overseeing the scheduling of patient appointments and follow-up visits. Maintaining patient records : Inputting and updating patient data within medical records or electronic health systems.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
- Participates in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team
- Accurately reports and records the client's condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
- Accurately monitor skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes
- Completes, maintains, and documents accurate and relevant clinical notes
- Ensures timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided
- Participation in education, in-services, and other training and meetings as needed
- Facilitates appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment
- Ensures all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift
- Manages medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and complies with all medication management policies and procedures

Physical Demands :
This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
