Production Manager

Position Summary:

As the Production Manager you will be overseeing the production of goods and/or provision of services of a multi-shift injection molding facility, specializing in medical device component manufacturing. It is a Production Managers’ responsibility to ensure your area is operating efficiently to meet external and internal customer demands. It includes monitoring and analyzing the current system of production or provision to ensure this, and to take corrective action where needed and/or implement continuous improvement. Managing, coaching, developing, motivating and accountability are crucial in this role.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

·        Planning and controlling change across a diverse injection molding operation, ensuring compliance to the Quality Management System (QMS), ISO 13485/ISO 9001 standards, and FDA regulations.

·         Manage day-to-day activities.

·        Managing quality assurance programs

·        Keeps Director of Operations informed about potential red flags and provides solutions to problems.

·        Research new technologies where applicable and define/improve methods of efficiency.

·        Setting and reviewing budgets and managing costs

·        Responsible for accurate, comprehensive, and timely data collection.

·        Interacts with managers of different aeras of the organization.

·        Presents findings to stakeholders and higher management.

·        Monitors the production schedule to ensure on time deliveries to the customer base.

·        Interacts in production meetings to ensure issues are being addressed.

·        Strong leadership skills.

·        Effective time management.

·        Lead, coach, inspire, support, and motivate the team.

·        Ability to hold people accountable while maintaining morale.

·        Provide, understand, and illustrate business metrics to upper management.

·        Develop KPI’s

·        Ensure that all production orders are manufactured in a correct, cost effective, and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements.

·        Improve operational systems where needed and maintain best practices.

·        Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives.

·        All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

·        Proven work experience as an operations manager

·        Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics.

·        Broad understanding of the technical disciplines and engineering principles for plastic molding processes, including injection molding, liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding, and thermoset.

·        Problem solving skills.

·        Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP, and electronic Quality Management Systems tools.

·        Leadership and organizational skills.

·        Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.

Education/Experience:

Minimum of an associate degree or equivalent work experience (10 years), preferably in an injection molding (or similar) environment.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret in English.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
