Position Summary
Looking for an ATC to work in our Bridge Program, designed to help ease the transition between injury and recovery and return to full function. Functional Performance Trainers work both in clinic and in the community to bridge the gap between dysfunction and function. Patient of all ages utilize the Bridge Program for individualized needs varying from return to sport training to total body conditioning.
Additionally, our Bridge Program has tactical contracts, all over the Cincinnati region, in which we deploy our ATC’s to perform performance evaluations, injury checks, strength and conditioning visits, educational site visits and more. The Functional Performance Trainer is responsible for providing programming and coaching that includes but not limited to motivation, education, and guidance on proper end stage of rehab conditioning, resistance training, mobility, and recovery to help patients return to desired functional levels such as sport or recreational activity.
The Functional Performance Trainer enables patients of all ages and backgrounds to perform to their physical potential through the development and management of individualized programs. This individual will impact the lives and abilities of patients through a variety of interventions and activities to improve their overall level of function. The functional performance trainer will be accountable for bringing a high level of energy and enthusiasm to each session and be able to maximize results and performance of each individual.
Position Responsibilities / Standards
- Design and implement strength training, mobility, injury prevention / reduction and conditioning programs for all patients in a manner that reflects research-driven practices
- Work in cooperation with the surgeon, sports medicine physician, athletic training staff and physical therapy team to return the patient to full function or sport
- Responsible for administering safe and effective exercise program design and prescription for patients looking to improve their level of function
- Provide detailed analysis and assessments to each patient to assess current state and develop appropriate strength, mobility, and conditioning programs to attain full potential in performance and function
- Enhance compliance to programming and improve patient performance through strong motivational communication
- Facilitate collaborative relationship among sport coaches and sports medicine team, including but not limited to physician and team, athletic training staff, physical therapy staff
- Successfully completed training and educational courses as required
- Responsible for processing fees associated with Bridge program appropriately and communicating with acting manager(s) when issues arise with payment processing.
- Responsible for caring for braces, prostheses, bandages, and other assistive devices.
- Responsible for participating in clerical and reception activities.
- Must comply with procedures to maintain supplies and equipment along with making suggestions for improving equipment based on need
- Must maintain surveillance of environment conditions within the PT service
- Must follow established procedures and observing safety precautions in the application and use of heat, cold, light, water, sound, and massage

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements for the position include the ability to frequently hear and communicate orally, see up close and at a distance, read and comprehend, stand, sit, walk, reach, handle, and / or feel objects. Must be able to climb, pull, push, squat and / or kneel. Ability to demonstrate exercises properly without limitations. Maximum unassisted lift = 50 lbs. Average lift 25-50 lbs.
