Orthopedic Technician
Job Summary
This position is responsible for applying and removing casts of patients as instructed by the physicians. It also serves as a dual role of Medical Assistant when not providing casting services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Application of casts to patients that have fractures
- Removal of casts as directed as directed by the physicians
- Reduction of fractures as directed by the physicians
- Remove or reapply dressings, remove sutures, perform injections, taking vitals, and all other routine procedures
- Follow established sterilization processes
- Follow proper rooming protocols
- Ensure end-of-day tasks are completed
- Comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other government guidelines
- Comply will all processes to meet government reporting requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Certificates, Licenses, and / or Registrations
Orthopedic Technician Certification preferred
