Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the concept phase, design activities, and reviews of electrical designs with minimal supervision. This role requires broad technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a high degree of initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of electrical design for projects with limited supervision, including creating schematics, conducting layouts, and performing DFM with PCBA suppliers.
- Perform worst-case circuit analysis and circuit simulations to ensure design integrity.
- Lead component selection and optimization for microcontrollers and battery/charger management devices.
- Provide sustaining support to existing products and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems and ensure design for manufacturability.
- Conduct comprehensive Electrical DFMEAs to ensure designs meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate prototype performance, identify areas for improvement, and document results.
- Maintain awareness of customer requirements and complaints to identify development or improvement opportunities.
- Prepare technical reports detailing design progress and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, with over 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing in consumer, telecom, automotive, and/or military industries.
- Prior experience with electrical layouts, schematic capture, digital and analog circuitry, DC power electronics, and EMI/EMC testing is required.
- Familiarity with CAD modeling systems, such as Altium or Orcad, and Department of Defense (DoD) experience are highly preferred.
- Up to 10% CONUS travel may be required.
