Position Description:
The Creative Director of Marketing will lead the translation of marketing objectives into creative strategy, while overseeing the ideation and execution of storytelling across all marketing channels and branded initiatives. The right person will have a passion for creative problem solving; will be quick with ideas but thoughtful with details; will seek ways to propel the Beacon portfolio brands, particularly plusOne intimate wellness products, into the cultural conversation; and thrives toggling between leadership and execution.
The Creative Director of Marketing will:
- Partner with the Brand Marketing, Ecommerce and Product teams to explore and identify opportunities for the business
- Define creative strategy and set the creative vision for the team
- Lead a small inhouse team of graphic designers and serve as creative point of contact with external creative agencies and production partners (photographers, videographers, producers)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with marketing leadership, business leads, and other internal stakeholders to define creative strategy and align on final output with desired KPIs.
- Lead a creative team — both internal and external — to conceptualize, produce, and deliver compelling, break-through-the-noise content that delivers on brand purpose.
- Set the creative tone and brand design standards to maintain global brand consistency.
- Attract best-in-class talent and agency partners to build a best-in-class in-house creative agency model that efficiently produces integrated campaigns and brand initiatives.
- Drive packaging design and production across multiple brands, with an eye for on-shelf, consumer and retailer requirements.
- Leads, manages, and participates in creative agency partnerships to drive optimum output and highly productive relationships, ensuring a level of excellence and value for the brand.
- Meet budget requirements by forecasting and managing expenses for talent, vendor services, equipment, travel, and so on.
- Implement tools and processes to scale, drive efficiencies, and meet deadlines.
- Analyze and keep up-to-date with creative trends, market and marketing trends, consumer needs, and the competitor landscape.
- Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative team, maintaining strategic thinking to develop innovative and actionable initiatives.
Primary Requirements:
- 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods space, understanding the mix of digital and physical environments
- Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, and other relevant fields.
- In-depth knowledge of brand development, omnichannel marketing models, and translating business objectives.
- Proven leadership skills with at least 5 years’ experience managing creative teams while developing the vision and messaging platform of a brand or product, to overseeing production and budget.
- Brilliant interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and foster strong cross-functional relationships for oneself and their team.
- Experience working with and influencing both internal and external senior leadership.
