Sr. Network Security Engineer

Summary

Beal Bank is seeking a Sr Network Security Engineer who is comfortable working in a challenging and diverse environment to assist with the installation, configuration and management of our network infrastructure and security related systems. The ideal candidate will also provide direct support to internal team members and external clients via phone, email, chat or in person. Candidate should be self-motivated and have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. They must be a strong team player able to collaborate with others.

This position is onsite at our Plano, TX headquarters; no relocation is provided.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (included but are not limited to):

• Maintaining LAN, WAN and WLAN environment for the data centers and remote locations
• Analyze and implement new security protocols for greater efficiency against any threat or misconfiguration
• Generate and maintain the VPN, firewalls, web protocols and email security decorum
• Ensure security compliance across all network infrastructure
• Maintain and optimize IT monitoring and reporting systems
• Provide project management functions to develop and implement complex network plans to include technology changes within the platforms, new implementation guidelines and/or standards
• Create, modify and maintain network and security related documents such as network diagrams or security application flows (i.e., Multifactor Authentication)
• Maintain, develop and deploy network automation scripts and processes using Python and API calls
• Administration and monitoring of web security gateways, perimeter security, network access controls and endpoint security components
• Troubleshoot IT network and infrastructure issues to help determine root cause
• Embrace cross-team collaboration within IT and throughout the organization in order to effectively develop and implement network and security-based solutions
• Apply intellectual curiosity to research new technologies, including assessing practical applications and bringing it to our production networks

Qualifications (Education, Computer Skills, Certifications, Etc.):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience/training
• Expert-level understanding of network protocols (TCP/UDP, IP, SIP, ARP, DNS, HTTP(S), etc.)
• Expert-level understanding of network routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, IP SLA, etc.)
• Experience in configuration, testing and operational support with multiple firewall architectures, including Cisco, Check Point and Palo Alto
• Experience implementing real-world network security best practices, including demilitarized zones, deep packet inspection and multi-factor authentication techniques
• Experience in feature development from concept through delivery in production, including requirements collection, architecture design, test plan development and execution and successful feature deployment
• Experience with development of load balancer solutions for a large production network
• Experience single sign-on (SSO), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and SAML
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications platforms a plus
• Must have Internet access at home in case remote work is needed
• Valid driver's license required
• CCNP or higher certifications preferred
• CISSP, ISSAP and GCED certifications preferred
• Occasional long periods of sitting and standing and use of computer, phone and technology
• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 lbs.
