Summary

Prepare products for delivery to warehouse or other departments by performing final inspection, labeling, and packaging of finished products, repackaging of certain products as needed, and assembly of kits composed of various products by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Top priority is to inspect & package finished rope and cords in the area of his/her assigned responsibility:

            - As specified by the Production Cards available each day

            - As quickly as reasonably possible

            - According to settings and details provided in the issued and documented ISO Work Instructions

            - As directed by the Supervisor or Management

 

Properly document all required information on the Production Cards before they leave your area of responsibility.

 

Inform Supervisor or Scheduler if there is any product received from braiding that does not pass inspection or anything is unclear.

 

Assemble Kits per Work Orders as time allows and scheduling demands.

 

Cooperate with coworkers and communicate any problems, changes, or special instructions relating to any production issue.

 

Tend to assigned equipment as necessary to ensure there are no problems. 

 

When it is clear that there is a temporary decrease in the workload for your area and inspection duties are complete, employees are expected to take the initiative to:

            - perform secondary tasks in any area of production

            - cross-train with other equipment and for other positions

            - assist in other areas of production 

 

Works at different work stations (i.e. twisting, winding, braiding, etc.) as production needs require or as directed by Management.

 

Secondary Tasks include, but are not limited to:

            - random quality checks

- cleaning equipment and work areas

            - assemble spools, boxes, product labels, etc.

            - verify inventory

            - special projects (as assigned by Management)

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                                   

 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

 

Language Skills                                                

 

Fluent in English, reading, writing and speaking skills.  Comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 

Reasoning Ability                                             

 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Without assistance from others, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, often requiring the use of both hands (i.e. move/carry a box).  With assistance from a 2nd person, employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move an item from 25 to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
