Position Summary
The Distribution Center Supervisor will be responsible for evaluating daily operations requirements, which will include reporting, staffing and productivity. Provide performance feedback and direction to assigned hourly Associates. Responsible for interviewing Distribution Center Associates, writing and delivering appraisals, and developing career paths for direct reports. Ensure the appropriate daily scheduling of associates to meet departmental and building goals.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES (Essential Functions):
- Evaluate daily operations requirements and ensure the appropriate daily scheduling of resources to meet productivity, accuracy and service goals
- Maintain presence within assigned Department to be available for questions from associates and provide direction and feedback
- Interview, select and oversee talent management of a diverse range of Associates
- Provide direct, daily supervision of department Associates by appropriately staffing, prioritizing work, assigning tasks and scheduling personnel
- During each shift, review and react appropriately to reporting, staffing and productivity to ensure goals are achieved
- Maintain workplace safety standards in a clean and orderly environment
- Establish goals for the department and communicate effectively to ensure that Associates understand what is expected
- Prioritize tasks based on merchandise aging, flow and production capacity
- Create and maintain a positive work environment through continual motivation and engagement in order to achieve performance and production goals
- Ensure that established operating procedures are followed for all department functions and processes
- Collaborate with others to seek out opportunities to brainstorm, improve and reinvent work processes
- Uphold company policies and procedures and deliver company established disciplinary procedures for policy violations and noncompliance
- Perform administrative duties such as time keeping, attendance calendars, performance reviews and employee forms in an accurate and timely manner
- Provide first level support and follow-up for associate suggestions, complaints and concerns.
- Responsible for ensuring OSHA, CTPAT and other safety compliance within the warehouse
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Supervises Associates on a daily basis, through activities including (but not restricted to) hiring, motivating, delegating, promoting, counseling and coaching, performance appraisals and pay-rate reviews, scheduling and termination
- Direct line oversight of hourly associates in the assigned department of the Distribution Center
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc.).
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., necessary to move cartons of merchandise
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 3 years of supervisory experience preferred
- Retail experience (i.e. operations, logistics, retail, supply chain, transportation, and distribution) is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish; English/Creole) is a plus
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly, both written and verbally
- Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and database navigational skills
- Ability to make data-driven decisions
- Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements
- Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations
Ability to Perform - Description
Must be able to operate assigned equipment and tools to complete job responsibilities. Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to remain in a standing position for long periods of time while completing necessary job duties. Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs., necessary to handle/move cartons of merchandise. Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs etc.) to perform essential job functions. Must be able to use stairs to complete essential functions where the department is located ,Must have sufficient hand and arm usage to successfully perform essential job functions.
