The Store Manager's role is to maximize the sales and profit of their retail location through leadership, sales management, talent management and execution of non-negotiable standards of operation, cost control, and asset protection.
The focus of the Store Manager is to build and sustain a work environment staffed with engaged, high performing associates who create a thrilling consistent customer experience.
INTERACTION
1. Report directly to the District/GroupManager
2. Extensive interaction with customers and storeteams
3. Interaction with Regional Directors/Market Directors and VP of StoreOperations
4. Interaction with corporate personnel as necessary
SUMMARY OF DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Business Planning/Operations a. Evaluate all reports daily to create store action plans to drive key performance indicators (KPI’s) and advance results around talent, operations, merchandising, financial and customer aspects of the business.
b. Demonstrates operational agility based on the needs of the business and is able to develop clear objectives to meet company goals.
c. Set clear goals and expectations for associates and holds them accountable for their responsibilities and objectives.
d. Develop daily, weekly and monthly action plans. Ability to organize, delegate, prioritize, meet deadlines, hold team accountable and follow up on all activities within the store in order to meet Company standards.
e. Knowledgeable in current policy, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting the stores within the district and the organization.
f. Personally model a positive customer experience, ensuring the customer always takes priority.
g. Collaborate with Loss Prevention partner to champion shrink reduction programs and respond favorably to all shrink and safety opportunities. Establish a high level of shrink awareness to ensure all Beall’s assets are protected.
h. Execution of all company specific programs, reports and processes, policies and procedures.
i. Communicates effectively by being clear and concise in both oral and written communication in order to ensure effective operations.
j. Holds self and team accountable to high performance standards in order to meet customer and company expectations
k. Upholds a culture that builds exceptional internal and external customer experiences
2. TalentManagement a. Recruit, network, attract, hire and "on board" a diverse range of talented personnel.
b. Actively manage succession planning with consistent attention to identifying, training and developing candidates. Maintains a fully staffed store through building benchstrength.
c. Directly influence talent development by writing, delivering and following up on an IDP or Action Plan for each Associate.
d. Write/deliver Supervisor Criticals (quarterly).
e. Assess talent appropriately to develop a strong succession plan to support the strategy of the business.
f. Conduct annual performance and pay rate reviews.
g. Lead the training of all store personnel by using the materials provided by the Company.
h. Utilize Company provided tools to manage all aspects of payroll management and scheduling. Process payroll functions each Monday.
i. Develop, build and maintain ongoing, collaborative working relationships among peers.
3. Merchandise Presentation a. Ensure that all corporate Merchandising and Marketing programs to drive sales and profits are executed within store.
b. Assesses store layout and individual inventory levels to merchandise in the most effective manner.
c. Assesses and escalates any inventory level discrepanciesto Supervisor.
d. Ensures the proper handling of merchandise functions within thestore.
e. Train staff in merchandising and visual presentation using company provided tools.
f. Ensure each division is set to I.S.M. – Tables, Aisle Presentation, Q-Line, Feature Racks and Endcaps.
g. Maintains high customer readiness standards and delivers a neat, clean and easy to shop store environment
