What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at Beam Camp?
The Beam Chef’s primary responsibility is directing all aspects of food service of three meals and three snacks each day to a camp of 108 young campers and 40 adult staff.
● Direct the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meats, vegetables, desserts, snacks or other foods.
● Plan menu for three meals a day, plus morning, afternoon and evening snacks, with vegetarian alternatives
● Supervise supporting kitchen staff and establish regular check-ins with them to outline daily and long term tasks.
● Delegate tasks and responsibilities to supporting kitchen staff, creating daily schedules if necessary.
● Create weekly meal schedules
● Order and inspect all food items and kitchen supplies needed to maintain smooth operation
● Meet daily with Camp Director
●Conduct kitchen training for camp personnel both assigned and not assigned to kitchen staff.
● Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance
● Meet with sales representatives in order to negotiate prices and order supplies
● Collaborate with other camp personnel to plan and develop menus for special camp events
● Remain on call during mealtimes to inspect dishes as they are served, and address any needs that may arise during the meal.
● Store leftover food and ingredients, as well as clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces and floors at the end of each meal.
● Help to clean dishes for all three meals a day

Salary : $6,000 - $7,500
