Backshift Facility Guard

The following position is open in Loretto Kentucky, United States. This position will be based at the Maker’s Mark distillery which is approximately 20 miles south of Bardstown, KY

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure all buildings, tanks and gates are secured during non-operating hours
• Ensure all employees and visitors are safe by diligently investigating all reports of unlawful activity, disruptive behavior and providing personal protection should it be necessary
• Make routine security checks around plant and warehouse locations
• Open doors, escort visitors and assist other lines of business with security and operational needs
• Answer life safety and security alarms
• Operates and assists with the company’s access control and video management systems
• Documents all security/safety and health incidents
• When certified, administers First Aid as a First Responder/EMT
• Supports and adhere to the job requirements for the department with regards to Quality, Food Safety, Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and fully support the company IMS objectives and initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

• Two years of prior full-time law enforcement experience or two years of prior “active duty” military service
• Strong work ethic and dependable teammate
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions
• Self-starting and capable of working unsupervised
• Ability to communicate at all levels to include communicating with disruptive visitors in order to de-escalate the situation
• Ability to physically intervene with a disruptive visitor if such situation were to arise
• Trustworthy
• High school diploma / GED
• Valid driver’s license

Non-Essential Skills and Experience:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Some post-secondary education
• First responder or emergency training
• Knowledge of security panels, alarm systems and fire protection a plus
• Basic Microsoft applications
• Some knowledge and experience using SAP
• Previous experience in security type field a plus
