Field Marketing Specialist - DC

The Marketing Specialist - Spirits’ focus is to help lead local activation/execution of national experiential programs and local sampling & events and track and report across all program elements. In this role, you apply your knowledge of and passion for on- and off-premise programs to deliver outstanding results that exceed expectations. You have knowledge of the spirits category in your market and use this experience to grow relationships, build the brand, manage special events and support other marketing activities. You have outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple programs and track progress throughout.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the local implementation of national experiential platforms and local events/sampling
- Help implement and activate brand-building programs (on/off premise and events)
- Track and manage budgets and programming spends specific to experiential and local activation
- Provide lead administrative support for creating and managing program recaps, timelines, general market overview reports, PPT deck creation, and budget/project tracking
- Develop and facilitate product training initiatives on core brands to customers, consumers, and trade
- Manage on-site vendors including catering, mixologists, and other contractors
- Build and leverage positive relationships with distributors, trade, influencers, and accounts to build brands among target audiences, achieve growth and perform against KPIs
- Actively seek out and recommend new potential opportunities for the brand(s) and identify target accounts
- Manage, coach, and develop agency and trade staff, providing clear expectations and goals related to activations and brand standards
- Implement and analyze reporting, program metrics, and KPIs that measure adoption and effectiveness
- Support the successful execution of local marketing and sales initiatives
- Partner and support the field marketing teams in continuing to develop current relationships in the marketplace
- Manage utilization and storage of assets
- Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, event recaps, status updates, and ongoing reporting
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be 21 years of age (note: should this change to “Must be of legal drinking age in markets serving”?)
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in the spirits industry, on-premise preferred
- Previous experience in event and onsite activation required
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills
- Strong skillset with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on PPT and Excel
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field
- Extensive knowledge of local spirits market including local and state laws preferred
- An in-depth understanding of the three-tier system preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within assigned timelines and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-based reporting tools
- Own transportation, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance
- Outgoing self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience in a Brand Ambassador, Portfolio Manager, or Field Activation Specialist role
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong budget management skills
