As a Lieutenant on the Public Safety team, you’ll help create a sense of security in the place our residents call home.

What you will do:
- Provide strong leadership to a team of 3-7 direct reports by setting clear goals, expectations, and priorities. Motivate team members to achieve their full potential and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Identify opportunities and training needs and implement effective solutions to enhance team efficiency, skills and knowledge. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members to help them grow and develop in their roles.
- Facilitate open and transparent communication within the team and across departments. Keep team members informed of important updates, changes, and initiatives, and encourage feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Provide a high level of service to our residents and be the liaison for residents with concerns regarding policies/procedures or the actions of a Public Safety member.
- Instruct and direct Public Safety Officers and Sergeants in all areas of their responsibilities and serve as the incident commander during critical or emergency events. Serve as the shift supervisor with the associated sergeant duties when working shifts without a sergeant.
- Positively impact department culture of strong work ethics to enhance the overall image of Public Safety and to encourage the best working environment and morale.
- Establish and maintain an open and positive dialogue with members; to voice their suggestions and concerns for becoming "Better Today Than Yesterday".
- Review monthly roll calls for proper personnel staffing and approval of all Leave of Absence requests.
- Monitor and approve overtime when personnel levels are at minimum staffing during a tour; and notify Chief or Deputy Chief of Public Safety.
- Develop and express concepts for improvement of Public Safety policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for all activity, reporting and notification process in the absence of the Chief or Deputy Chief of Public Safety.
- Attend the weekly leadership meetings.

Hourly Rate: $45.00 – 48.50
