We presently have an employment opportunity for a Reconditioning Manager in one of our operations. In this new role, the Reconditioning Manager is responsible for managing the preparation of used cars and trucks, ensuring that they are in excellent condition and ready for resale. The role also involves supervising a team of mechanics, detailers, and other technicians, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance and efficiency. Time management is essential, as the Reconditioning Manager must effectively manage the reconditioning process to minimize holding costs, optimize turnaround times, and maximize sales potential.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Oversee and manage the employment life cycle of technicians and detailers, including recruitment, training, performance management, and development.
- Collaborates with the sales team to provide updates on vehicle status and completion dates.
- Lead and support the team to ensure efficient turnaround times for vehicles throughout the reconditioning process.
- Ensure all vehicles meet quality standards and are safe for resale.
- Maintain compliance with local and federal regulations related to reconditioning work.
- Strive to exceed customer expectations by delivering reliable and high-quality vehicles.
- Monitor and track the reconditioning process for all vehicles in inventory.
- Perform daily trade walks with used car managers to ensure alignment and progress.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including one to three months of related training and/or experience.
- ASE certification in automotive repairs.
- At least 5 years of experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Proficiency in following both written and verbal instructions, including manufacturers’ service specifications.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ownership of personal tools and a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
